My name is Wendy and you can read my story here. But the way I wanted to introduce myself to you, my fellow bloggers, this weekend is to tell you why I blog... Because for the past couple of months I've been asking myself just that.
I took my question to God and asked, "is using this blog to share my struggles and my joys, ever pointing to You, what you want me to do, Lord?" Honestly the question came after seeing all the other blogs out there, with large followings. I wondered, "if women are already being fed through other blogs by Christian Women, is this how I should spend my time?" And I heard my Savior say, "Would you write for just one woman? Would you write today if it would encourage one gal, strengthen one marriage, edify one young mom who feels alone?"
Of course my answer to Him was a resounding YES! Here I am... send me... evening if only for one dear reader.
And the miracle that's happened these past weeks has been so sweet. Each day, nearly without fail, I've received ONE email or message from a reader. "My marriage isn't awful by any stretch of the imagination, but your words have reminded me to not grow complacent. I'm excited to respect my husband in new ways... I needed this post today... I was starting to feel so alone, but I see that we're all dealing with the same things... This post on JOY was just what I needed, how did you know?... I'm going to re-post that Bible verse you wrote about today. I don't think I've ever posted a Bible verse on facebook before. Hmmm... Would you mind if I use your Brotherly Love Contract with my boys? It's just what I've been looking for..." And the sweet notes go on.
So today as I link up, wanting to learn to grow my circle of influence, I am humbled and grateful to know that my true Audience of One delights in a willing heart, much more than the size of our readership.
I hope you are blessed today as you read the posts of your fellow-bloggers, and share your heart with us.
