New Life for Bru #2

He leads me in the path of Righteousness for His name's sake.             Psalm 23:3

I was five when I first believed that Jesus loved me, and nine when I understood I needed forgiveness for my sins; that's when I truly accepted the gift of eternal life He came to give. By 16 I started to comprehend what being a Christian meant and wanted to be baptized.  At 18 I knew more fully what would be required of me as I followed Him.  In my 20s I experienced a tremendous amount of His refining fire that solidified my faith. From there the path has lead to maturity, service, and surrender. It's been a path... a path of Righteousness... and Jesus has been the one to lead me down it.

On Thursday my middle-est Brunner Boy stepped with both his little feet onto the path as well.

This week the Bru-Crew hit VBS full force.  Vacation Bible Schools (or "church camp" as we call 'em) are held all over the world and always hosted by local churches with the sole mission of teaching children how desperately God loves them.  I grew up going to VBS and now it's my boys' turn!  They spent five full days galavanting around the church campus with their leaders and friends, singing songs, sliding down water slides, doing crafts, and playing sports.  Yesterday was day #5, and we are all exhausted!

Another thing they did each day was memorize a scripture and learn what it means.  Thursday's verse was the one above.  "He (Jesus) leads me in the path of Righteousness for His name's sake."  The boys' leaders taught them that only Jesus can lead us down the path to Righteousness; the path that makes us right with God and leads to everlasting life.  They invited each little boy and girl to accept the love and forgiveness that Jesus came to give us, and like I said, my second born miracle stepped forward.

Jesus said, "Let the little Children come to me and do not forbid them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."

I know that it's a journey along this path that continues on from today... but what joy I have knowing that He is walking it after Jesus.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."  3 John 1:4
