Today the boys are all sick. They've lounged the morning away on the couch after an eventful night of vomiting and fever. Not the ideal way to spend a Holiday off of school, but we're making the most of it this President's Day.
Amidst the lethargy, thermometers, and Grandma's homemade chicken broth, the boys and I pulled together on the couch to read Ingri and Edgar ...

I've come to the recent conclusion that God wants a yes-heart from me, even more than the specifics of what He is calling me to say "yes" to.
"Will you do this, dear girl?... Would you be wiling to cancel your plans tonight to stay home and love on a sick child?... What if I call you to step out of your comfortable life to embrace a less comfortable...

I've been blogging with y'all here for over half a year and haven't once written about something very dear to my heart... Adoption. I think of it daily, tell God my heart is available regularly, and last night even dreamt about it.
Actually, two things that have been on my mind came together in one Sweet little dream last night. The first was adoption and the second was candy -...

She poked her head outside and asked her first born grandson, "Did you just pee on the side of the house?" He said no. But the little one cried out again,...

My boys need ample time to slow down and play, to let their imaginations soar, and bond with one another and me, their busy mom. Like your children, mine love it when I forego the dishes to delight in what they delight in. My oldest child's heart opens and softens when I linger in his bedroom to listen to his heart and tickle his soft back at bedtime. My middle-est child dimples deeply when I leave the laundry half-folded to join him on the carpet and b...

My husband did a great job taking care of the boys this weekend while I had a special retreat at the MOM HEART Conference lead by Sally Clarkson. Two wonderful days being bathed in encouragement, watching the self-imposed condemnation of not being a perfect mother literally falling from my shoulders and those of the women all around me. Truly refreshing. And now this morning, in our quiet home, as my three boys play with their Knights and Horses, and Sa...

I recently heard someone say, "Don't think outside of the box... live like there is no box!" Or something in that price range. When you see a quote like that on Facebook you immediately want to hit the "like" button, but after you do what really changes about the way you live your life? What changes about the way I live mine?
This week my family made...
